About Red Mountain Nutrition

Nutrition is not a "one size fits all" concept.  Everyone's body is unique and responds to food differently.  With Red Mountain Nutrition's flexible approach, anyone can successfully improve their diet and lifestyle improving overall health. 

Often there is a disconnect when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle.  We know what’s good for our bodies, but we don’t always act accordingly. Red Mountain Nutrition aims to mend the gap between knowing and doing, by catering to each individual's unique circumstances. Whether it is weight management, developing a healthy relationship with food, or improving a health condition; Red Mountain Nutrition offers a variety of services and packages designed to meet your needs.

As of March 2023, Red Mountain Nutrition is now an American Diabetes Association recognized program.  This can assure you that we have met the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education programs.

Tina Alexander
Owner/Coordinator
Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Educator

Tina completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from University of New Mexico.  She is passionate about integrating nutrition, physical activity, adequate sleep, proper hydration and stress management to assist individuals in achieving optimal health.  Her passion roots from a family history of diabetes and heart disease, which has driven her to become a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and obtain her Certificate in Obesity and Weight Management and become a Certified Trauma Specialist in Nutrition and Integrative Care.  With her own struggles with weight due to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), she is very compassionate and understanding with her client’s needs and struggles.  She has experience working in chronic disease management, weight management, weight loss resistance due to hormonal imbalances, and improving mental health including depression and anxiety through nutrition and lifestyle.

Heidi Lucas 
Registered Nurse, Diabetes Educator

Heidi completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University.  She has been providing Diabetes Self Management Training for over a decade.  She is passionate about providing clients with tools, empowerment, and support to either prevent or effectively manage diabetes.  She has struggled with PCOS and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, however, this does not define her.  Instead, it creates empathy for others and a knowledge that healthcare is not “one size fits all.” Empowering people, gardening, hiking, baking, and creating custom wooden gifts for her children and grandchildren brings her joy.  Her hobbies naturally lead to a healthy lifestyle by increasing physical activity, access to healthy food, and managing stress effectively.

Alicia Bair
Registered Dietitian, Diabetes Educator
Insulin Pump Trainer

Alicia completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Arizona and her Master of Science and Dietetics from Marshall University. She has four kids, loves football, food, and reading. Her interest in nutrition began when she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and discovered the power of nutrition in determining her quality of life living with this disease .  She has more than 25 years experience managing diabetes including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring and can provide a unique sense of understanding and empathy for those struggling with diseases of their own.  She is passionate about healing, loving, and caring for the body through individualized nutrition and lifestyle. Alicia believes healthy looks different on everyone and she aims to help clients feel their best through lifestyle and nutrition changes that work for them.  Alicia is also a Certified Trauma Specialist in Nutrition and Integrative Health.

Karolyn Pyle
Certified Health and Wellness Coach

Karolyn is completing her Bachelor degree in Healthy Lifestyle Coaching from Arizona State University.  Her interest in health and wellness grew when she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 20 years ago.  She has been working as a Certified Health Coach and Nutrition Consultant since 2016.  She guides her clients in behavior change empowers them to develop strategies that enable them to create new healthy habits through a combination of education, self-discovery, support and accountability.  She is well versed in nutritional supplementation and can assist in evaluating quality and need for supplements a client is using or is considering.  Karolyn also is a Certified Trauma Specialist in Nutrition and Integrative Care.

Bonnie Atkins
Insurance Verification/Scheduling

Bonnie has resided in Mesa, AZ for over 30 years and has worked for various medical practices working with insurance contracting and verification of coverage, administration and customer service.  After insurance verification, Bonnie will call each individual to schedule appointment, explain the process of working with Red Mountain Nutrition's Nutrition professionals, and call to confirm your appointments.  In her free time, she enjoys crafting, playing games and cards, attending plays and performances at the many venues the area offers.
